Creating A St Patricks Day Wreath Kansas

By Jeffrey Powell

Each year the death of the patron Saint of Ireland is celebrated on March 17th. Saint Patrick's Day, traditionally celebrated only by the Irish, is now part of life around the world whether you have Irish roots or not. Many countries hold parades and there are parties for all to enjoy a pint of stout. Like the winter holiday season people like to hang decorations and for a St Patricks Day wreath Kansas has numerous florist shops selling everything you could need.

Green is the color of choice of this holiday which is often called Paddy's Day. Green drinks, green clothing and of course green flowers are all part of the fun. It is becoming popular to replace the holiday seasons wreaths with a lovely green for the day. Adding color and festive fun, your friends and neighbors will know that you are also celebrating.

The lucky four-leaf clover or shamrock is the plant most associated with this day and the Irish. Finding one of these growing wild is supposed to bring you lots of luck and wealth. They are however extremely rare to find so it might be better to find another option to the real thing.

Florists are one of the best places to purchase a ready-made wreath that you can simply hang at home. Lovely green foliage and a variety of spring blooms will brighten any home. If you prefer to design your own arrangement then you can buy the materials instead. You will need a frame and enough flowers and foliage to cover it. This makes an original design with all the flowers you love most.

The internet is an excellent place to look for videos and blogs giving tips on making floral wreaths. There are also many pictures to give you inspiration. You can include items for luck such as horseshoes. Ribbons and messages can also be added to fresh flowers to make a stunning decoration.

Before you start buying things to build a wreath think about things like where it will hang, whether it is just for this year or whether you would like to make one which will last. Cold and frost can damage delicate blooms, while fierce sun will wilt real flowers in just a few minutes. Windy conditions will mean you will need to make sure everything can be fastened really securely.

Not everyone is lucky enough to have a handy local florist or perhaps they do not stock exactly what you would like. Online stores are likely to have exactly what you want. Check shipping details and order in plenty of time so that everything arrives before the big day. Size is also a concern, what looks like the right size in the picture might be smaller than a dime or bigger than your door.

Ready-made or home-made, a St Patrick's Day wreath brightens up any home. It may even bring you luck if you load it with enough shamrocks and lucky symbols. Luck or no luck, Paddy's Day is a time for fun, parties and parades. Get out the green clothes and enjoy a stout or a bright green cocktail.
