Home Grown Natural Oral Care Tips

By Michael Lewis

Everyone desires an odorless mouth and beautiful white teeth. They come with comfort and a confidence boost besides saving you from midnight painful toothaches. While advanced toothpastes and oral care products have been invented, natural oral care remains the most reliable. The remedies have been used by different societies since time in memorial and have been proven to be free of side effects. Here are proven steps that are devoid of manufactured products or chemicals but deliver excellent results.

Regular cleaning of your teeth. Dental specialists recommend cleaning at least twice each day. This should be done immediately after a meal. You should clean depending on availability of toothpaste and other cleaning substances. It is not mandatory to use toothpaste and a brush in all instances. Flossing using water is enough to eliminate food residues and thus keep the mouth clean.

Alkaline foods will help. Tooth decay emanates from acidic food remnants in the mouth. One of the best ways to fight the decay is by consuming alkaline foods. They help your body to maintain the recommended pH. Some of the foods include greens, fruits and beans. This does not eliminate the need to wash your mouth regularly and especially after every meal.

Use warm sea salt water. This is part of holistic dental hygiene. It should be done at least once a day and especially before going to sleep. It helps to clear unpleasant bacteria from your mouth and other unwelcome visitors. The water may be added a few clove or olive oil with the aim of freshening your breath. These natural ingredients are used in place of the commercial mouth wash.

The body needs enough rest through recommended hours of sleep every day. This will also be helpful for your general health. This is augmented with daily exercises. The idea is to keep the body strong enough to cope with infections and fight inflammations. Fatigue weakens the body, leaving it vulnerable to attacks.

Clean the tongue regularly. The nature of the tongue means that it can capture a lot of food residues. This is a potent source of bad breath and tooth decay. The residue will still affect your teeth despite regular cleaning if the tongue is ignored. Use brushes that are specific for the tongue. Fibrous foods like sugarcane can be used in cleaning the tongue as well.

Consult a holistic dentist near you on regular basis. The recommended frequency for dental checkup is once or twice a year. The dental professional can spot and rectify dental or oral issues as early as possible. Where there are hardware like fillings, rails, implants, etc, they will be monitored to ascertain that they are working effectively.

To maintain perfect oral health, you need to avoid anything that is dangerous to your mouth, including gums, teeth and tongue. Use natural products like herbal toothpastes, salt and baking soda to avoid the side effects of manufactured ones. Choose toothpastes that are free of fluoride. Take care of your mouth from childhood to reap incredible benefits even in adulthood.
