Concepts Regarding All Natural Mouthwash

By Roger Parker

The typical mouthwash used in nearly all households has repeatedly been proven by dental health experts to be unfriendly to the normal composition of our mouths, causing significant damage to our gums and drying out the saliva produced that is necessary for digestion of the food we ingest every day. It could also be posing a threat to our cardiac health. However, that does not mean that you should fail to use a mouth wash, simply that you need to put more scrutiny on the types of all natural mouthwash you buy.

All-natural mouth washes are recommended by dentists as they do not destroy the normal flora of the mouth which is extremely important for a healthy gut, and with the aid of a good mouth care routine, keeps your teeth strong and bad breath at bay. A variety of these natural options are available and have proven effective and safe for use.

They do not contain any alcohol supplements. Using products that have this component causes irritation to the lining of this cavity. Alcohol could also be a source of aching and pain to the gums and the teeth. Organic methods do not cause this and are gentle on the parts of the mouth.

Aesop mouth wash is an alcohol-free wash which is an agreeable blend of spearmint, aniseed and clove bud. However regardless of its natural components the concoction does also destroy the mouths normal flora with prolonged use. Its therefore best to keep its use to a minimum.

The neem tree yields a prodigious natural wash. The Auromere Ayurvedic mouth wash has antiseptic qualities that are not so potent as to destroy the buccal tissue or the teeth, but just enough to leave the mouth free of harmful bacteria. Its effect is like that of chlorhexidine but not nearly as corrosive.

For people with bleeding tendencies the Natural Dentists Antigingivitis mouth wash is designed expressly to sooth painful gums that may have become sensitive, due to health-related factors or for those with the misfortune of having naturally sensitive gums. The combination of aloe Vera and echinacea, calendula and cinnamon give it remarkable healing properties for this target population.

For the people who are DIY fans a homemade solution is pocket friendly and the ingredients are readily accessible. All you need is a combination of distilled water and baking soda, if possible put in a little sea salt. The combination may not be the most pleasant for your taste buds but just as effective as anything you will buy from a pharmacy or store. Be wary of adding essential oils however, because they might sound important, but they destroy your mouths normal flora which is detrimental to your overall health.

When all is said and done, keep in mind that there are things you absolutely do not want in your mouth. Keep an eye out for mouth washes with alcohol, chlorine dioxide, chlorhexidine parabens, poloxamer, formaldehyde, saccharine and Cocamidopropyl betaine. Steer clear of these components and you can be sure you are getting the safest wash for your mouth.
