Learn How To Heal Sunburn

You need to protect your skin when it is exposed to direct sun light, and it really doesn't matter how tanned you already are. You can still get sunburned, and this is not only highly uncomfortable, but it can also be dangerous. If you need some advice about how to heal sunburn, here are some little tips that you might find useful.

First signs of redness on some area should be noticed. As soon you notice them, you should take a shower, where there is a possibility for it, or rinse these areas with water. After that, apply your sun cream and put your hat on, as well as some comfortable clothes. Spend the rest of the day in the shade, to avoid further damages. Wearing a hat is always a very good idea, by the way, especially if you have really sensitive skin.

Once you come home, take a cold shower and leave the skin to dry naturally, without using a towel. Depending how serious your sunburns are, you might be having blisters on some area. If you do, apply a generous amount of mild moisturizer, containing aloe vera and, if it is really needed, protect the skin with a gaze. Take frequent showers to ease the pain and discomfort.

Natural skin products containing high percentages of Aloe Vera are the best for treating sun damaged skin. Nevertheless, make sure that there are no fragrances or chemical components such as benzocaine on the list of ingredients. Aloe vera is great for repairing, soothing and even cooling your skin, but other harmful ingredients is some products may cause itching or even allergies.

You could also take ibuprofen or an aspirin, to reduce the swelling and to ease your discomfort and pain. You should drink water and natural juices, but water is better. Don't ever drink alcohol when you have sunburns. It will dehydrate skin additionally, and it doesn't work very well combined with various pain killers.

There are some home remedies that might also be quite helpful. For damages without blisters, try applying cold yogurt on, or maybe sour cream, if you don't have yogurt. Wear comfortable clothes and take aspirins every once in a while. If you have a good quality olive oil, preferably home made, it might also speed up the recovery.

Another important thing is to avoid any spicy, hot or heavy food. Try to stick to light, fresh foods for a day or two, drinking large amounts of natural water, and eating fruits and vegetables. You could also have your favorite nuts for a snack. It's important to provide fuel for your body, to ease the process of recovery. Minerals and vitamins will help regeneration.
