Tips For Your Family Photography Kauai

By Eric Wallace

Chances are that it has been quite a while since you took a big family photo. Or it could be that you have never taken a photo as a unit before. Since things change quite fast, capturing those special moments is quite essential. You can arrange for a family photography Kauai session and create great memories. Here is how to do it well.

Think about what you are going to wear well beforehand. It can be great if you can coordinate your clothing in some way. You can wear colors that complement each other or you can wear similar clothes or clothes that go well together. This will add an interesting dynamic to the photo. You should also wear clothes that will come out great when photographed.

Don't put everyone at one level. This will create a not very interesting photo. A great way to stagger heads is to have some people sited while others are standing up. The sited people should sit towards the middle of the photo and other people surround them. For example, you can have the grandparents sit and other people stand.

Encourage the people to relax and not be too stiff. You can encourage natural body bending, such as having people standing while putting weight on one leg or bending one knee. You can have other people cross their arms, while others stand with their hands in their pockets with their thumbs sticking out. Alternatively, have some people pose sideways with hands on their waist.

Make sure to bring pops. They will add a bit of pizzazz to the photo. For instance, you can bring some balls, blankets or even balls. Some of your family's favorite things will work. Work out how to include the props in the picture. Bring something that is relevant to your group in some way.

If taking photos with children, don't be too strict on them and get them to pose in a certain way. Some of their natural poses could actually turn out better than your suggested poses. So, just relax and let the children be, even if they want to run around and play around before the shoot starts.

Think about where you would like to have the photo taken. It could be taken in a photo studio. It could also be taken at home or outside. Just make sure that everyone who is supposed can easily get to the chosen location. You can plan for the shoot during a time when you are having a family event and your invite the photographer over.

Apart from taking one big group photo, consider taking smaller group photos as well. For instance, you can let the children pose only with their grandparents. You can also let smaller family groups take pictures together. Or you can let all the girls pose together, then all the males. Just create different dynamics that highlight relationships in the group.
